Hi, I'm Chic, pronounced Chick, but I dropped the K in 9th grade - story there. My real name is Charles. Like many of us here, I had a difficult breakup some years ago, but I'm here and hopeful.
I'm active and energetic and have a big CNY family. I didn't have children of my own but still have been able to live a full life traveling and spending time with my 14 nieces and nephews. Most of my travel has been in the US, as we have many beautiful places. But I'm planning a trip abroad - hoping to have someone to share this with.
I work in the wellness field because helping people is in my nature, and I also own a small video and photo production company. I'm about to self-publish my first book; it's taken a long ass time to write. I don't expect to win a Pulitzer, but I wrote the story I wanted to read. I like being creative and around creative people; art is good for the soul.
Speaking of good for the soul. Nature is my favorite place. It's God's greatest gift to us as humans, and I like to be outdoors often. I believe in God, maybe not the exact God you believe in, but I believe in a power greater than us and more profound than we can comprehend. But on a spiritual level, I think we are all part of the Universe, and what made us is the same thing that made the stars. I was raised Catholic but have studied a lot of Taoism, Buddhism, and other belief systems, so I've combined everything I've learned and made "Chicism."
I practice yoga and meditation and spend about 4-5 days a week being active and working out.
I've been very fortunate to have experienced many different ways of being. I know a lot of people and have met thousands. I've learned much from them, and these are some things that define my character. I'm caring, compassionate, empathetic, patient, and understanding. I care about humanity and support people who don't look or live like me. And I don't judge those with different values and opinions. I love adventure, but I can stay home, cook, watch a movie, sit quietly, and read. I also love to laugh and have a great sense of humor; I'm no stick in the mud, I promise you! I like wine and beer, but I'm not a drunk. I have a good diet; I mainly eat balanced whole foods and take care of myself.
I'm looking for someone who shares some of these values and practices. But I'm not limiting myself to meeting someone with the same lifestyle. I'm not into extremist politics and don't like the toxicity of its anger and aggression. If you live a little distance away and I've reached out to you, I'm willing to travel for the right connection and open to relocating if things go well. I always respect my partner and put our relationship first. And I understand that if you have children, they are your main priority, and I appreciate that. I'm open to a relationship if your children are a little older and have some independence.
I hope to grow with someone and create new memories. Something as simple as holding hands during a movie or stealing a kiss at the grocery store motivates me. And I'm not into arguing or bickering. There are too many other things to do, and we should be happy enjoying our lives.
