It would take a lot of words to describe me. I am strong, loving and loyal but very aware of and in touch with my vulnerabilities. Self knowledge for personal improvement has been a lifelong goal with much success and more still to go! I am funny and serious, intellectual, artistic, nature loving and deeply committed to growth in relationships of all kinds. I am not afraid to be happy, sensual or sad. I welcome all feelings as instructors. I want to feel treasured and will give equally.
I use a chainsaw, weave, farm, knit, cook, tele ski, swim, bike, kayak, read, write and like to stay active. I also like down time. In the last four years I have solo backpacked 7000 miles, solo paddled the ct river source to sea, skied the entire catamount trail, done an ebike month long adventure and more. I have also written a book and taken a lot of down time. I keep a blog of my adventures on a word press blog at themarybadass which is the name I was given when thru hiking the CDT. Mary Badass has since been interviewed by backpacker radio for a podcast....
Relationships are very special to me and when I find the right one I will alter what I am doing to mesh with my partner, though I wont give up everything. I am committed to being honest and vulnerable and to working through difficult times, though I would hope the hard times would be minimal.
I want to grow older with someone. I'd love to have grandkids who adore me...I just have a grand dog. I do a lot of volunteer work. Let's play!
I want someone with imperfections. Of course he "should" also adore me. Seriously I want to be with someone committed for the long haul, though I am also open to increasing my friends. If we get close we must always strive to see the good in each other, and be grateful for companionship and so called little things, which often are so important. Making time to play together is critical as is an ability to share emotions, comfort, gratitude, laughter and tears. Self awareness and willingness to be vulnerable are critical.
Keeping up with me is not critical, and it might be that I struggle to keep up with you. When backpacking about 15 miles/day or 100/week is my preferred speed. If you didn't want to hike with me, perhaps you would drive a sag wagon and meet up with me while I finish hiking all the national scenic trails...i only have 2 1/2 left!
Seriously someone who understands the nature of these adventures and their importance and who would like to join me or at least be supportive would be great.
