I enjoy the great outdoors and seeing what is around the next corner. I like to climb mountains and to trek the vast reaches of this planet. Sometimes I like to go fast, sometimes I like to cruise and take it all in, sitting quietly in some remote place. With me you won't know what's coming next, so hold on tight because I'll take you places few have been before the next week begins!
In the past 4 years since 'retiring' from my Analyst job I have travelled a lot. Starting with 3 months going the full length of Australia. Then 3 months in the USA, then back for another 6 months in 2012 making it all the way from LA to Canada then Alaska and back in a 20 year old Honda Accord. In 2013, 5 months in Europe from Norway and Scotland to Italy and Croatia. Then Nepal for a month. And 2014 backpacking through SE asia, Indonesia to Vietnam over 6 months. Rode a motorbike from Hanoi to Saigon :D
I have a Ph.D. (Chemistry) and I play cricket and tennis (socially), climb, ski and tramp and listen to anything that sounds great.

I am looking for a smart adventurer so you must be reasonably fit. You don't need to be superwoman, my adventures aren't extreme for the ones I care for. I want someone who can share my sense of excitement and activity, but can also share a sense of peace at the end of the day. Sometimes it's just nice to cuddle up on the sofa and watch a DVD....action DVD of course!
If you're looking for someone with a flash car and a shoe collection...keep on looking! But if you want to share adventures with someone who will travel with you to the farthest corners of this planet, tick this box :)

I'm going to be a bit different now and not put up a waffly description of what I'm looking for. I'm putting my old day job hat on, which involved buying and selling oil products to spec and put forward the following 'partner spec' - let's see if you match ;-)
1. 36-51 years old
2. Is active in a sport or outdoor activity which requires a reasonable degree of fitness, e.g. tramping, golf, tennis, cycling, climbing etc.
3. Intelligent, e.g. knows the difference between Global Warming and the Ozone Hole
4. Not much taller than me (5'8" = 174cm) - 2-3cm is OK. Short is fine too :)
5. Doesn't mind being around my daughters (14,22,24). If you've got kids that's fine too.
6. Likes cricket (or will at least tolerate me liking it - lol)
7. Non-smoker, not now not ever. I'm serious about this.
8. Likes movies especially thrillers or comedy or sci-fi
9. Has the 'adventure' gene!
